"Bromantically Challenged"[1] is the ninth episode in season 1 of Bella and the Bulldogs. It aired on March 14, 2015 to 1.69 million viewers.

Overview

When Troy and Sawyer fight over who is going to be Bella's top wide receiver, Bella tries to mediate the situation. At the same time, Newt tries to challenge himself. Meanwhile, Sophie and Pepper are having trouble getting customers at the bake sale without Bella's help.

Plot

Troy and Sawyer are both awarded the supposed "game ball" which is given to the best players that week. Coach Russell calls Bella into his office and explains that there is more to being quarterback than just scoring touchdowns. Coach says she needs to learn the responsibility of leadership like keeping the guys out of trouble, making sure everybody is following their work-out schedule, and apparently, washing Coach Russell's car.

Later, the scene changes to Sophie and Pepper setting up for the bake sale that is supposed to fund the cheerleading team to go on their cheer retreat. It's their first time without Bella and the girls are worried. Bella calms the girls down and says that even though they don't have her, they do have her snickerdoodles.

Bella attempts to help the girls by grabbing a snickerdoodle and eating it, and then telling a random boy that he should buy one. The boy tries to choose what he wants to buy but the girls are busy discussing whether or not Bella owes a dollar. The boys asks for them to make up their minds because he wants to buy something. Sophie turns around and says, "I want to buy something too! Your silence!" The boy leaves, muttering "How mean!", Sophie then turns around laughing.

She tells Pepper that guy must be crazy because she is not mean. Pepper says she isn't, saying that the boy was mean for telling her to "make up her mind". She says she is perfectly decisive but then she questions it in which Sophie reassures her that she has no trouble making up her mind though she doesn't seem to believe herself.
